Ever since having my own kitchen, I’ve found myself blissfully “adding to cart” for hours on Food52, West Elm, and Williams Sonoma. Not quite sure if I attribute this to my upcoming quarter-life-crisis (woof) or the fact that kitchen items have always been my kryptonite, but either way, I’m not mad about it!
I’m a firm believer in buying things for the long-run. More often than not, I’m more than willing to spend a little extra money on something higher-quality that will perform, and also last!
Now, where did I possibly learn this wise mindset? My mom, of course!
My mom’s take…
Over the years, my mom has always advocated for spending your money well. She pointed out to me at a young age that you don’t need a kitchen full of expensive things for it to be a great kitchen. The real secret lies in investing in a few splurge items where it counts most.
Take your pots and pans for example. My mom placed an emphasis on items such as these – that need to perform and LAST – as the ones that are worth the bigger price tag.
And, in the end, the proof is in the pudding. Nearly all of the kitchen supplies my mom has purchased and loved for years have slowly trickled down to me!
(pause for applause from everyone who realizes how amazing and advantageous this situation is for me)
Having a goal & an announcement…
No matter what your wish list looks like, or how long you may have to wait to get your hands on these beauties, having a goal is really the most important part! Nobody’s dream kitchen comes together overnight…but if you don’t dream about it and hang onto those lofty aspirations – you might never see it come into fruition!
FINALLY (speaking of having goals), we’re thrilled to announce another Moments partnership that connects to our vision of investing into long-lasting, high-quality pieces that will serve you for decades to come. You’ve seen this brand in practically every single Instagram Reel and TikTok we’ve produced, so without further ado, we’ve partnered with Le Creuset!
Scroll down to see why we love them, and our other “splurge” choices! And let us know if you’ve been eyeing any of these finds, or have any suggestions to add to the ever-growing list 😉
OUR “SPLURGE” SELECTION
Balmuda Toaster Oven
SO beautiful and an instant life-improver, this Balmuda toaster oven is the thing of my dreams. And not having it is a frequent plot-line of my nightmares. My mom already owns the all-white version of this stunner, and it’s the most compact, powerful toaster-meets-oven that you’ll find. Plus, if you’re Gluten-Free like me, cross contamination is a thing of the past when sharing this with other people!
Le Creuset Cookware
Although it may be self-explanatory at this point (since our Le Creuset cookware is practically the only cookware you’ll spot us using on camera), it’s worth mentioning again how amazing these pots and pans are! With an array of colors, styles, and types…there’s clearly something for every need. Keep an eye out for our coupon code & discount mentions, coming soon!
Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer
Ahh…the KitchenAid. Ahead of getting my own (yes, yes, i know…i’m shocked and forever happy and would 100% save it from a house fire), this was the number one item on my wish list for years. It doesn’t even need to be said, but it’s the best of the best, and if you do any sort of baking/dough making/mixing of any kind, this is an absolute must.
Google Nest Hub
If you’ve been following us for a while, I’m sure you’ve already heard us talk your ear off about the Google Nest Hub. In my Brooklyn kitchen, I own the mini-version, and back in Cleveland, my mom owns the Max. Truly, we couldn’t live without this. From the hands-free timer, to the sound quality when it comes to music, and the phone calls you can make while it follows you around the room seamlessly. Need I say more?
Global Knives
If you’ve ever gotten used to slicing and dicing with dull, old knives…you’ll know the feeling of finally using something sharper and precise. My mom bought this Global Knife set YEARS ago, and hasn’t looked back since. Lately, I’ve joked with her that she’ll just have to buy me these for Christmas, because I can’t cut anything while visiting home due to them putting my own knives to shame.
