alfresco \al-FRESS-koh\ adjective or adverb. : taking place or located in the open air
Chirping birds, a soft breeze, plenty of sunshine – these are all pivotal elements to an alfresco lunch. I can’t recall off the top of my head when my first “official” alfresco lunch had taken place, but all I can remember is the feeling that came along with it. There’s a certain sense of ease that accompanies one of these special afternoons outdoors. It’s the embodiment of looking at the person seated across the table from you, wine glass in hand, and saying, “I think I could do another…?”
It’s freeing! Suddenly, the world is your oyster and you’ve been launched into the golden hills of Tuscany. Dining without a schedule in mind or a timeframe to adhere to. You’re…unattached.
Over time, we’ve noticed a trend on our blog that encapsulates this experience. I.e., we never feature lunch recipes. Or at least “lunch exclusive” recipes. This is partially due to two reasons. One, we’re dinner people! We like to cook at night, eat the grandest meal at night, and enjoy a glass of wine while we wind down from the day. Two, because we love our alfresco lunches way too much to give them up. And we think someone else can do lunches better than us anyways. 😉
So, if you’re planning on partaking – whether it be on a nice sunny porch at a local restaurant, or with friends in a park. Here are our recommendations on how to enjoy it to the fullest!
Step one…make sure these things are guaranteed:
