Hello!

We’re Kim & Tess. A mother/daughter duo dedicated to making moments and elevating the everyday.

Welcome to our kitchen! We’re a mother and daughter who connected over food – what else? – during the pandemic. In the beginning, quarantine presented many new challenges and experiences, but most unexpectedly, the gift of time! Through which grew a long-fated partnership that centered around our mutual love of making moments for our friends, family, and selves (of course).

After several adventurous recipe attempts and hundreds of hours spent together in the kitchen, we knew we had something special going for us…thus, the creation of this blog!

We hope that Moments will not only serve as your go-to for inspired recipes, but will also provide ideas for creating moments of your own.

Whether it’s an impromptu beach picnic or a much-needed candlelit dinner on a Tuesday, Moments seeks to elevate the everyday and reframe your idea of what life is really about…appreciating every second!

We’re excited to share our recipes, learning curves, and experiences with you!

xoxo, Kim and Tess

HOW it STARTED

Whether cooking an elaborate meal for the party of the year, taking off the apron and dining somewhere wonderful, or simply pulling together an impromptu cozy dinner for ourselves – we love turning an everyday situation into a moment.

We had never expected it, but there we were, sitting on our front porch with glasses of wine in hand chatting about what the *!$% to do with ourselves during this unexpected global pause. There wasn’t an end in sight, and suddenly we had to ask ourselves the hard questions: what’s next? What once was a plan of moving to New York post-graduation was now more of a dream than an upcoming reality.

So, in the meantime, to cope with the unknowns and what-ifs…we cooked.

We cooked everything under the sun and then some more. We challenged ourselves and made out-of-the-box recipes we never would have tried if it weren’t for this never-ending amount of free time. Then, on that porch, the question of doing something with all that cooking came up. First, it was a cookbook, then it was a platform. And nearly five years later, @momentscookbook has amassed over 60,000+ followers across accounts, over a million likes, and 12 million+ views. Not bad for a mother/daughter duo who loves to drink wine, cook, and spend time together, huh?
