If you’ve been reading our latest posts, you are well aware of how insane things have been in our household. With so many plates in the air at once, it’s a relief to know we’ve caught a few of them. Since my last post a week ago, Tess secured an apartment in Brooklyn, and I’ve landed in Boulder. Here to help install my son in his off-campus housing, I’m working hard (to help make his space inhabitable) – and playing hard too! Whether deep cleaning a kitchen, or cleaning out Ikea, we’re making unforgettable memories along the way.

If you’re a foodie, like us, absolutely put a visit to Boulder on your “To-Do” list. With perpetually sunny skies, friendly locals, and an a restaurant scene among the top in the country – Boulder is a visitor’s dream come true. The variety of exciting restaurants makes it difficult to decide what to sink your teeth into. Sitting beside the sloping rock faces of the Flatirons, Boulder has two main commercial districts that are world-renowned dining and shopping destinations.

Pearl Street

A brick-paved street lined with restaurant and shops, Pearl Street is the heart and soul of Boulder. With four blocks closed to traffic, it’s easy to spend a low-key afternoon walking through shops, and enjoying an alfresco lunch on a sun-dappled patio. Evenings on Pearl Street are inviting, with enchanting lights strung across the walkway, and street musicians adding to the always festive atmosphere.

Our Favorites:

Frasca Food and Wine (Upscale Italian)

Pizzaria Locale (Hand tossed pizzas)

PHO

West End Tavern (Delicious bbq, wings)

University Hill

University Hill (aka “The Hill) is idyllically located at the base of the Flatirons. Coming from the flat Ohio landscape, we are always in awe of the mountain views right there in front of us, at every turn. The Hill is walking distance from the Colorado University campus, and  is frequented by students, locals and out-of-towners. It’s great fun to walk to your favorites, and linger to people watch, or listen to the live music on the street.

Our Favorites:

Cafe Alion (French Bistro)

Roxie’s Tacos

The Sink (Great burgers)

Honorable Mentions Around Boulder

Tangerine (Awesome breakfast-lots of gluten-free)

Blackbelly Market (Farm to table butcher shop and charcuterie)
