We’re Kim & Tess. A mother/daughter duo making dinner, making a magazine, and making a moment out of all of it.
Welcome to Moments Cookbook!
What started with two people spending way too much time together in the kitchen has grown into our little corner of the internet dedicated to one very simple idea: ordinary life is worth making something of.
We’re a mother/daughter duo who believe dinner can be an occasion, Tuesday can deserve the good wine glasses, and you absolutely do not need a reason to make something feel special.
These days, you’ll find us cooking, talking, writing, filming, taste-testing, making each other laugh, occasionally disagreeing about how something should be done, and documenting all of it along the way.
Because somewhere between the recipes and the ridiculousness, we realized Moments was never really just about food.
It was about making a life you actually want to be there for.
xoxo, Kim and Tess

Up to Date
Our monthly magazine and the place where the whole Moments world comes together. Up to Date is our love letter to the magazines we grew up reading, reimagined for the lives we’re living now. Inside you’ll find recipes, recommendations, essays, things we’re loving, things we’re talking about, and whatever else has earned a spot on our desks that month. Read it digitally, listen to us talk through it on the Up to Date podcast, or get your hands on a printed copy and dog-ear the pages like it’s 2004.
Friday Nights
Friday night dinner at our house. You’re invited! Friday Nights is our weekly cooking show where we make something we’re genuinely excited to eat, with all the conversations, glasses of wine, and inevitable detours that happen along the way. No perfectly styled cooking demonstration required. Just us, in the kitchen, making dinner with you!
Recipes
The thing that started it all! Some are weeknight staples. Some require an entire afternoon and a trip to three grocery stores. We firmly believe there’s room for both.
These are the things we’re actually cooking, eating, making again, and texting each other about afterward. Yes, it’s that serious!

So, what are we making?
Before there was a magazine, a cooking show, or any idea what we were doing, there were two glasses of wine on a front porch.

It was 2020. The world had stopped, Tess’s post-graduation plans to move to New York suddenly looked more like a distant idea than an upcoming reality, and we found ourselves sitting on our front porch asking the question pretty much everyone was asking:
What the *!$% do we do now?
So, we cooked. We cooked everything under the sun and then some. We attempted recipes we’d never normally have the time, or possibly the patience, to try. We made elaborate dinners for absolutely no reason. We spent hundreds of hours together in the kitchen. And somewhere along the way, cooking became more than something to fill the time. We realized we’d always shared a particular habit: we like making things feel like something.
Whether it’s cooking an elaborate meal for the party of the year, taking off the apron and going somewhere wonderful, pulling together an impromptu beach picnic, or lighting candles for dinner on an otherwise completely unremarkable Tuesday, we’ve always believed the everyday deserves a little celebration.
One night on that same porch, we started talking about doing something more. First, it was a cookbook. Then, maybe a blog. Then social media. Then somehow…all of this.
What began as a way to keep moving forward during an uncertain stretch of time became Moments Cookbook, and eventually a community of people who apparently also believe that dinner, friendship, family, getting dressed, going somewhere, staying home, and all the little stuff in between can be worth making a fuss over. Turns out, we weren’t really making a cookbook.
We were making moments.
And we’re still just getting started.
